PROTECT

TAX DOLLARS

It’s very important to understand your Johns Creek taxes. The Council rolled back the millage rate for 2026 while simultaneously adding a Performing Arts Center Bond Referendum on the ballot in November for $40 million, which will increase your taxes for the next 20 years. This is in addition to the City taxes, $40 million Parks Bond, and Stormwater Utility Fee you already pay.

I believe in limited government with less taxes and less spending. I will be ready on day one to make the necessary decisions to provide high quality, efficient, and effective government services. I am committed to balancing the budget each year without using reserves, keeping taxes low, funding essential services, and eliminating wasteful spending. I will never sacrifice critical services for projects promoted by those who don’t even live in Johns Creek. I support zero-based budgeting where all expenses must be justified and every function within City departments are analyzed for needs and costs to assess their statutory responsibilities, purpose, and performance.

Prioritize and control spending

  • Operating – I will have each department head resubmit their personnel requests to the Mayor and Council to ensure critical personnel are fully staffed and operational requests are prioritized for what is needed to best serve Johns Creek.

  • Accruals – I will ensure the three accrual funds for Equipment, Infrastructure, and Vehicle Replacement are no longer transferred to pet projects but rather are used as intended to support critical services.

  • Capital Projects - The FY26 budget lists forty Capital Projects totaling $11.9 million with funding for $5.4 million, of which $5 million is designated to the Performing Arts Center Construction documents. This leaves $400,000 to be spent. I will reprioritize the Capital Projects based on Public Safety, first; Transportation, second; and Parks, third. I will also remove non-essential projects to Johns Creek residents.

QUALITY OF LIFE

I am committed to continually improving the quality of life for Johns Creek residents through community engagement and effective governance. As your Mayor, I will meet with neighborhoods, organizations, businesses, and groups on a regular basis to listen to opinions, concerns, ideas, and requests in an open forum. A representative form of government only works well if citizens are engaged and we can make the best decisions together for our city.
