PRIORITIES
PUBLIC SAFETY
I have a deeply, personal passion for Public Safety as I come from a family of first responders, some of whom have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. My grandfather, a Chief of Police, and my uncle, a Deputy Sheriff, were both killed in the line of duty. Other family have served as Chiefs of Police, Fire Chief, and police officers. I understand firsthand and the sacrifice, service, and importance of Public Safety.

When Johns Creek was formed in 2006, there were 62,000 residents. Today, there are over 85,000 residents with more residential developments underway. Compared to our neighboring cities, Johns Creek is underserved with the number of Police and Fire personnel. I will work tirelessly to prioritize, provide, and fund all the support needed for Public Safety, rather than reallocating those funds to the Performing Arts Center or other pet projects. I am committed to maintaining Johns Creek’s high standards and quality of life. I will prioritize and fund Public Safety by:

-
Ensuring salaries are competitive for Police and Fire
-
Increasing staffing levels
-
Restoring full funding
-
Building a fifth fire station
TRANSPORTATION
I am committed to funding transportation initiatives to decrease congestion, enhance safety, and improve connectivity. I will work to ensure that transportation projects are adequately funded, remain on-budget, and meet the deadlines they commit to.
-
Transportation Master Plan - I will work to update this plan from 15 years ago as well as ensure Johns Creek’s infrastructure and policy recommendations are accurately represented in the North Fulton Comprehensive Transportation Plan.
-
TSPLOST - I will ensure these funds are no longer misappropriated but rather designated to improving transportation as approved by the voters.
-
Enhancing Safety - I will prioritize the completion of transportation projects for the most dangerous intersections.
-
Connectivity - I will work to complete the connectivity of sidewalks and trails across the city.
PARKS
Johns Creek has nine parks covering 400 acres. These parks enhance our quality of life but have not been properly planned, completed, or maintained according to Johns Creek’s standards. Currently, Johns Creek residents are eight years into paying off a thirty-year, $40 million Parks Bond and the projects that voters approved for the Parks Bond have still not been completed. My goal for Johns Creek’s parks is to properly finish what we start and bring what we have up to Johns Creek’s standards.
-
The Boardwalk at Town Center is estimated to be a $40 million park that was designed without restrooms. This is unacceptable and I will ensure that restrooms are built before the park is completed.
-
Cauley Creek is our largest park with 200 acres. I will prioritize funding for:
-
The completion of Phase II projects
-
Parking
-
Striping the fields for the multi-purpose uses of football, lacrosse, and soccer
-
-
Plan and prioritize amenities in parks according to community input approved by Council.
